The Philippine Overseas Labor Office verification is the procedure conducted by the Labor Attaché to ensure that all
the employment rights, benefits and welfare of Filipino migrant workers at the worksite are duly protected.
By doing the verification, POLO ensures that the employment contracts of Overseas Filipino Workers are consistent
with the prevailing employment laws, standards and practices in both the Philippines and the host country,
and that the documentary requirements for overseas employment are complied with.
The prefecture where your main office is located will decide which POLO Office to submit your requirements.

1.) Employers need to submit the required documents depending on the type of worker to be hired, which POLO Tokyo will evaluate. POLO-Tokyo may require compliance documents prior to approval.
2.) After the evaluation, POLO Tokyo will conduct an interview or site visit. If the employer passes, POLO will verify the documents and endorse the employer to the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency.
3.) Interview with the Labor Attaché is required before document verification.
Note: POLO does not collect fees for the verification process.
4.) UNO will then work hand in hand with you for the recruitment, processing, deployment and monitoring of workers.

TITP aims to contribute to developing countries by accepting people from these countries and transferring
skills through on-the-job training for a certain period of time, up to a maximum of five years.
If you are an employer, it is recommended to partner with a local Japanese Supervising Organization
which will act as your support, which will handle your selected intern's work permit, housing and transportation,
updating of government documents and your company's POEA Registration.
All companies facilitating the training of Technical Interns are classified as Implementing Organization under the TITP Prorgam.
TITPs are supervised by the Organization for Technical Intern Training (OTIT), which can conduct on-site inspections,
request reports from organizations, and support and protect technical intern trainees.

SSW was established for the purpose of coping with labor shortages in Japan, providing employment opportunities for graduates of the
Technincal Intern Training Program and speakers of Nihongo with knowledge in their industries.
There are two types of SSW:
Specified Skilled Worker (i) - foreign nationals engaging in work requiring skills which need a considerable degree of knowledge or experience belonging to a specific industrial field. They can be renewed every 4 months, 6 months, 1 year or up to 5 years in total.
Specified Skilled Worker (ii) - foreign nationals engaging in work requiring proficient skills belonging to a specified field, particulary the construction industry and shipbuilding and shipyard machinery industry. They can be renewed every 6 months, 1 year or up to 3 years.

This type of hiring is for engineers and other professionals, such as specialists in Humanities and International Services like foreign
language teachers, interpreters, aviation engineers, civil engineers, knife specialists and others.
Technical Interns are generally persons with limited knowledge or working experience in the field they are applying for.
They have little to no Japanese Language Proficiency and are required to undergo at least 160 hours of Japanese Language
Training, shouldered by the employer, before they are deployed to Japan. The monthly net salary for technical interns
range from Y90,000 to Y160,000 depending on the industry, prefecture, and scope of work as approved by the the Organization
for Technical Intern Training and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office.
Specified Skilled Workers have considerable knowledge and experience in their industry, as proven by their three (3) years'
experience under the Technical Intern Training Program or through passing the Skills Test required by the respective Japan
Ministry which oversees their industry and their Japanese Language Proficiency of at least N4 Level. Upon selection, they no
longer need to undergo training and may be deployed immediately once their Certificate of Eligibility, Visa, and POEA Overseas
Exit Clearance (OEC) are released. The monthly net salary for Specfied Skilled Workers start at Y140,000~ depending on the
industry, prefecture, and scope of work as approved by the Japan Immigration Bureau and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office.
Engineers have broad knowledge and extensive working experience in their field. Typically a four or five-year baccalaureate holder
and with at least five years of working experience in their industry, engineers are specialists in their scope of work. The minimum salary
for engineers is Y180,000 monthly as approved by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office.
Philippine laws prohibit the direct hiring of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW). Any employer intending to hire OFWs
is required to course employment through recruitment agencies accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA).
Any employer intending to hire OFWs for the first time must undergo accreditation under their corresponding Philippine
Overseas Labor Office (POLO). You may contact the nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate to know which POLO your company falls under.
After verifying the employment contract, terms and conditions with the POLO, UNO will submit the documents to the
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) for accreditation.
The costs of recruitment and placement shall be the responsibility of the principal/employer, which covers payment for the following:
• Visa, including the stamping fee
• Work permit and residence permit, as your government requires
• Round trip airfare
• Transportation from the airport to the jobsite
• POEA processing fee
• OWWA membership fee
• Mandatory Insurance as required by the Philippine Government
• Medical testing as may be required by your government
• Skills or language training as may be required by your government
• Additional trade test/assessment, if required by the employer
